CM-011: Inspired by the painting by Conrad Wise Chapman, THE BOMBARDMENT OF FT. MOULTRIE, we have created a gun crew. CM-011 is holding a wooden maneuvering handspike used to move the gun from side to side by lifting the rails. This handspike is modeled from a drawing obtained from the national archives and is precisely to scale. The soldier is in a shell jacket and can be either Union or Confederate. The collection complements the Old Steam Navy Coastal Guns availble on this web site. This figure was painted by Frank Albritton.
